Meet James “Jay” Bailey, thought leader and servant leader.
If you’re wondering if Jay Bailey and I share anything in common other than our last name, let me tell you now that he’s my cousin. My father and his grandfather were brothers. Jay is a dynamic thought leader who believes deeply in service. I was thrilled when he agreed to discuss why he’s so committed to serving others. It was a great conversation entitled, “Thought Leaders Who Serve.”
Who is Jay Bailey?
He’s the founder of Phoenix Leadership Foundation, a non-profit organization he co-created with his wife. The organization funds and develops programs that provide positive role models and creates leaders. Their primary goal is to inspire youth to rise from the ashes of their circumstance and soar towards living in their purpose. Jay’s vision for the foundation truly echos his passion to serve.
Jay has an impressive background in service, stemming from his upbringing and community involvement at a very young age. He is committed to living by his personal motto, “Build As We Climb” as a change agent, thought leader and emerging philanthropist dedicated to serving others.
Jay has been recognized throughout Atlanta and across the country for his leadership and dedication to service. He was named to both the Atlanta Business Chronicle and Georgia Trend Magazine’s 40 Under 40 “Best and Brightest Leaders of the Future.” And, in 2011, Jay received a Presidential Volunteer Service Award from the Obama Administration. These are only a few of honors and accolades Jay has earned for his thought leadership and service.
I’ve told Jay numerous times how very proud I am of him and the man he’s become. Did I tell you service runs in our genes? LOL! That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
