“Your circumstance doesn’t reflect or determine your awesomeness. Periodt!”

Those words floated out of my mouth in a coaching session with a client.

It’s because they were EXACTLY the words my client needed to hear. They were a source of encouragement and inspiration. They were confirmation and empowering, too…just what she needed to hear.

To be honest, I needed to hear them, too!

It’s because like all of us entrepreneurs, we often face circumstances that cause doubt, frustration, and dissillusionment. Those emotions are real and raw. Unfortunately, we don’t always see them coming.

I don’t know about you but I’ve felt like quitting more than a few times in more than 17 years!

AND, as someone who lives with clinical depression, those feelings can be especially overwhelming.

“Never make a permanent decision based on a temporary situation.”

“This too shall pass.”

And, now, “Your circumstance does not reflect or determine your awesomeness. Periodt!”

These are staples of encouragement for me and others.

Let’s call the latter a new “WendyY-ism,” ok?

I said it and it totally came from a place of understanding, transparency and connection… for my client.

AND, I know how to pick myself up, dust myself off, retool, reinvent and restart.

If you’re reading this, I hope you’ll share this message to bless someone today.
  • Tell them to stay encouraged.
  • Tell them to stay the course.
  • Tell them they are still totally awesome DESPITE how their circumstance might look.

It’s because they are who they are in all of their AWESOMENESS…always!

By the way, did I tell you how awesome you are? #truth
