#1 Leadership Coach in the world, Dr. Marshall Goldsmith, coached me!
Imagine my delight last Friday when out of more than 300 attendees at the ICF Midwest Conference in Indianapolis I won a one-on-one coaching session with, top leadership coach, Dr. Marshall Goldsmith! Even though I had my questions all set in my mind, nothing prepared me for all of the powerful insights Dr. Goldsmith shared during our one hour, private lunch.
Dr. Marshall Goldsmith
is a renowned leadership educator, top CEO coach and among the top thought leaders in the world. He’s a 15 time New York Times bestselling author and is listed with Forbes, FastCompany, The Wall Street Journal (to name a few), as one of the world’s top business thinkers. He’s written or co-written a number of successful books, created several coaching programs and travels around the world sharing leadership strategies and insights with CEOs, coaches, managers and more.
When they called my name, I did some quick soul searching and found the best possible way to leverage the opportunity! Sure, I work with amazing coaches already but having Marshall pour into me and my business was truly an awesome experience. I am genuinely grateful.
- When you have a mission statement, you should know it and be prepared to share it at a moment’s notice. Mine is on my website but when he asked me, I couldn’t easily tell him what it was. That was a real eyeopener for me. Sure, it’s written but am I using it in my business!
- Write a book that represents your brand. He’s agreed to write the foreword for my first book coming in the next 30 days and suggested the concept for my brand book as my second book. How kewl is that?!
- Leverage up in everything you do to add success stories and endorsements for your work. Marshall said to leverage our meeting to access other higher level players. Such a great guy!
This is just a snippet of what Marshall shared with me, including an autographed copy of his latest book, Triggers: Creating Behavior That Lasts – Becoming the Person You Want To Be. There was SO much more and I have three pages of notes to prove it! The one lesson I learned that is totally worth the entire cost of the conference, including my travel and expenses is this: Always share what you know to help someone else.
What amazing events can you leverage to accelerate your income?
WendyY, how awesome is that? You got such a great gift in that one coaching session. And now look who you have doing the foreword for your book! It also goes to show that you must always be prepared because you never know where an opportunity will show up.
You are SO right, Carol! I’m truly grateful for the gift AND for all of the fruits it will continue to yield in my life and business.
